Re: Reminder

Dear David

I didn't reply since you failed to answer directly either of the straight forward questions that I put to you.

I pray that the Lord blesses you in your calling and that His will is done in your life

Alan

[TCE:  If the genuine Christians who left Rhiwbina Baptist in protest at their inculcation of error contact us independently to include their testimony on these pages we will gladly give them such space.  That this church cares so little about lost sheep and embraced Warrenism, remaining unrepentant and unconcerned about real Scriptural truth, is another pointer to the way Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22) flourishes in the UK.]

25th February, 2010 - Alan returns to the fray:

Hi TCE

Just noticed that you're still peddling smears behind a cloak of anonymity.

e.g.

"Strange that Rhiwbina could find time to strain gnats but had no time or inclination to comment or take action on its clear and gross error!"

I say this because I am still waiting for you to produce a name (i.e. evidence) of someone who has left RBC because of the teaching.

Until you do that without hiding behind deception you still remain cowardly accusers of the  brethren.

I'd also be interested in knowing under whose authority you operate?

Why don't you state your name(s) and then we could have a discussion in the light?

Alan

TCE replies (belatedly):

Dear Alan

thank you again for taking the time (last year) to reveal more of your Biblical expertise and logic.

Since you choose to use a word that has clear connotations, we need not quibble in asking why your church still condones the '
Olive Branch' in its peddling of books by proven heretics (as proven by several visits in 2010), e.g.

John Bevere, Joyce Meyer, Benny Hinn, Brian McLaren, Wendy Alec, Bill Hybels, Beth Moore, Jack Deere, Jack Hayford, Rick Warren, Eugene H. Peterson, Brian McLaren, Tony Campolo, etc.

Your church has made it clear that you are, as a body, uninterested in seeking to stay very close to the Word of God - as revealed exclusively in the Bible - and, therefore, your invitation to a 'discussion in the light' is no more than a pretext.  The scourge of false teaching has not been purged from the church in the UK and never will be while church leaders allow the sale of heretical books from their own premises - as you are doing.

That is also the crux of our answer to your request to 'know[ing] under whose authority you operate.'  No doubt you are hoping to discover a leader or denomination 'name' under which you can condemn us, but we seek to avoid any kind of unbiblical authoritarianism - especially that which exhibits its nature by condoning the spread of false doctrine through books it distributes and courses (e.g. Warrenism) run in its buildings.

While the Bible states: "obey them that have the rule over you" (Hebrews 13v17) such submission is to Christ and God's Word through those in leadership positions.  Each member of the body of Christ has the responsibility to determine, by the leading of the Holy Spirit and his own knowledge of the Bible, whether what he is being asked to believe and do is of God or not, and he must obey only what is right in his own conscience under those conditions.  While contemporary church leaders shrink from pointing the corrective finger at anyone, or mis-apply Biblical correction when they do, each of us is responsible to check out today's teachers against the Bible, just as the Bereans did with Paul (Acts 17v11).  So, in reply to the demand, "By what authority do you question the teaching of Christian leaders/our church?" our response is:  "We are just 'Bereans', as you should also be, so test what we teach, preach, and believe, by Scripture - just as we always seek to do."

The failure of Christians to know the Bible, to think for themselves and to do their Berean duty allows church leaders to continue to lead millions astray. That is no light matter and should concern us all enough to do something about it. No one can excuse himself for going along with false doctrine and practices, or for remaining silent when others are being misled!

That you continue to believe our 'failure' to supply details that we know you should be aware of - if you were really concerned about accurate facts and details - is more important than dealing with the promulgation of heresy through the written materials you 'peddle' continues to speak volumes.

Your previous claim to 'pray that the Lord blesses you in your calling and that His will is done in your life' is clearly shown to be insincere by your continuing accusation that we are:  'hiding behind deception [and]
still remain cowardly accusers of the  brethren.'

While we note that you are in no hurry to close your letter as a representative of Christ, or even as a member of His church, we continue to seek the will of God in 'all things' (1 Thess. 5v19-22).

In Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour God.

David (for

Hi David

Your response time is a bit like communicating with Mars.

Anyway, the dialogue is more than futile since you are still unable/unwilling to substantiate your claims that people have left the church for the reasons you state.

There's no need to reply since you "have no ears to hear."

Alan J James

Rhiwbina Baptist Church

[
TCEAlan still fails to recognise that, if no one in Rhiwbina has ever left the church because of the teachings/doctrine - and he has also failed to disprove our initial claim that the fellowship embraced numerous errors, e.g. 'The Toronto Blessing'; 'Pensacola'; 'Brownsville,' and 'Warrenism' - then none of those involved in acceptance of these errors are approved by God for, as the inspired apostle Paul wrote (1 Corinthians 11v19):

18  For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and in part I believe it. 19  For there
must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may become evident among you (NASB; cf. 1 Thessalonians 2v4)

Subject: The Christian Expositor.

Hi there

I just read about somethings on the website thechristianexpositor.org regarding Rhiwbina Baptist Church.

I got baptised there in 1984 shortly after I was born again in Llanishen village. I was born and raised in Templeton Avenue in Llanishen.

I am unhappy with how I was treated at RBC , I was a young Christian and I feel that some serious damage was done to me there.

Thanks for the website, I will look at it some more.

David

Hi David,

thank you for taking the time to write.

Although we only mentioned Rhiwbina for the reasons stated on the two pages on which they appear, one of their elders recently made contact to complain about these references.

We have replied appropriately, particularly since they have now taken it upon themselves to study the 'Purpose Driven' deception of the heretic Rick Warren (ref. the new article )

We only have the accounts of more recent teaching of concern at the church and know nothing of Rhiwbina history, circa 1984, when they were still a reasonably orthodox church to our knowledge of that time.

Perhaps the treatment you received then was unusual in the light of their general church practices?

We hope and pray that you have since received help and possible counselling for problems that may have been caused?

You will be in our prayers, as we hope we are in yours.

In Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour

Subject: Is your website still active?

I just found your website tonight and, as a fellow Christian, am very intrigued by the information contained therein. It is so vast that I will have to return tomorrow to continue my perusal of your site. I noticed that The Christian Expositor website was last updated on December 20, 2006. Is your website still active? I'm praying that you will continue to address international and national current events. Thank you for a wonderful presence on the world wide web. God bless you, as you diligently work to keep us enlightened.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything they have.

15th March, 2007 - TCE replies:

Dear Katherine

thank you for your kind and encouraging words.

We have been heavily involved in teaching apologetics to a small group of seekers since December and lack of time and resources has prevented further additions for the moment.
But we do intend to continue working on the site in the very near future and, hopefully, it will never become fully inactive (until we are Raptured!?).

It is our prayer, too, that we press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus and that our love may abound more and more with knowledge and all discernment so that we may approve what is excellent and be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Again, many thanks for your very uplifting letter, it was a great joy to hear from you.

Many blessings in Christ Jesus,

TCE

Friend, this is an astonishing collection of gossip and slander. Even where your facts are straight, this edifies noone [sic]. Please stop, your time and gifts can be much better used.

Yours in Christ, John Orchard.

[TCE:  Since the above came from an address at 'Wales Evangelical School of Theology' perhaps it is indicative of the 'New Evangelism' that pervades our Bible Colleges and, like the first example above, cannot even begin to construct a Biblical response when challenging others!]

19th July, 2007 - TCE replies:

Dear John

thank you for taking the time to e-mail us.

As made clear on our home page, we no longer respond to all e-mails due to other initiatives (and the very common nature of the attempted 'counters' from respondents).

You fail to make reference to any facts or Scripture, so your blanket accusation makes you guilty of the very things you would hurl at us.

Is 'johnny snarl' [your included hotmail address!] meant to reflect your methods?

Far from edifying 'noone', numerous testimonies encourage us that others also know and love the Word and recognise when it is being handled accurately.

If you ever bother to put your accusations into a coherent form we may consider forming a brief reply under the conditions clearly stated on our home page.

Until then please recognise that:

Pr 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Pr 26:4-5: Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly [as his folly deserves!], that he not be wise in his own eyes.

In Jesus' Precious Name

Subject: Lakeland, Florida 'Outpouring'

The Lakeland "Outpouring" is not as it seems, even though CBN is touting is as a great work of the Holy Spirit.

Spirit yes, Holy......no.

Thousands are being deceived there.

Check out the story and the man's background.........Todd Bentley. He regularly converses with an angel called "Emma" who brings him teachings and prophecies.

Awesome website.......Keep It Up !!!!

3rd June, 2008 - TCE replies:

Dear Kevin

thank you for the information and your kind and encouraging words.

We are now very hard-pressed for time and greatly reduced in numbers and so regret that we will be unable to look into this or answer further e-mails, even briefly, for several weeks, but then hope to be back on-track.

Again, many thanks for making contact, it was a great joy to hear from you.

Many blessings in Christ Jesus,

[TCE:  notice that, even since we briefly examined Todd Bentley and 'Fresh Fire Ministries' - back in October, 2004 - this man has continued to be allowed into ignorant and unstable fellowships to deceive the unwary.  But we rejoice that many 'watchman' ministries (some linked from this site) warned clearly and openly about the continuing demonic deception hailed as a "revival" which emanated from Lakeland, Florida, in early 2008, but which fell like the rotten edifice it had always clearly proven to be [see article].

*****************************************************

These are examples of the kind of e-mails we receive regarding Christian matters;  we will never ignore or omit an e-mail which makes an important valid point.  Unfortunately, many e-mails indicate the paucity of knowledge of the Word of God in the world today.  But we acknowledge that Bible-believing Christians are represented here and they do show due concern for the accurate handling of the Word (2 Timothy 2v15; Titus 1v9)

Incidentally, if Rhiwbina Baptist [who currently - 2011 - continue to sell books from Word-Faith heretics and many of the other heretics exposed in 'Savage Wolves'], or any of the other Biblically ignorant fellowships that have embraced the kind of errors detailed above, wish to make it known that they have publicly repented for their involvement in these deceptions we also offer them the opportunity to do so via our pages.  Alternatively, if they wish to write an apologetic to explain their reasons for becoming involved in these deceptions we would also allow them space here (say, the equivalent of 2 pages - which is approximately 25-30 pages of A4).  Obviously, we also reserve the right to reply!

Christian Bookshops in Cardiff
[Update - February 2015]

Recent visits to these bookshops reveals the continuing steadfastness of the Heath, while the Wyndham Arcade has sadly slipped into the ways of Rhiwbina's 'Olive Branch'.  We sent the following letter to the head office of Wyndham:

Evangelical Movement of Wales Bookshops
Head Office
Bryntirion
Bridgend

CF13 4DX

22nd October 2007

Dear Sir or Madam

for many years it has been my pleasure to be able to recommend your Wyndham Arcade Christian bookshop in Cardiff to anyone seeking orthodox Christian literature.

It is therefore with great regret that I now find that the Wyndham Arcade bookshop has joined the many others in Britain who are purveyor's of un-Biblical and, indeed, heretical material.

I refer to such examples as:

Joyce Meyer - 'Word of Faith'- 'we are little gods' heresy;

Tony Campolo - 'Universalism' - 'Jesus actually is present in each ... person ... Forgetting our divinity ... is responsible for a host of maladies that plague our contemporary society ... Dr. Robert Schuller ... affirms our divinity [and] isn't that what the gospel is? …… Erich Fromm, one of the most popular psychoanalysts of our time [Note: Fromm is a humanistic anti-Christian], recognized the diabolical social consequences that can come about when a person loses sight of his/her divinity or the divinity of others ... There are those who would limit Jesus to being present only in those who would acknowledge Him as Lord and Saviour, but I will not accept that limitation. I believe that Jesus is present even in …… those who refuse Him.'

Tommy Tennett - 'distorted Bible interpretation, mysticism, esoteric experiences, neo-gnosticism';

Rick Warren - 'distorted Bible interpretation through use of the laughably inaccurate 'Message non-Bible', 'there is salvation outside of knowing Christ', heavy shepherding, alliance to occult and New Age deceptions, 'global warming' scare-mongering' - etc. etc.;

These are just some of the deceivers whose teachings you are now helping to make available in Cardiff.

I appeal to whoever is the overseer of your very worthwhile ministry to address this issue with serious Bible study and research in the immediate future.

Any acknowledgement of this letter and, hopefully, a serious re-appraisal of your stock would be gratefully received.

In Christ Jesus

TCE

We did not hear from EMWB and the material remained unchanged until the Wyndham Arcade bookshop closed.

'The Olive Branch' continues; strange that Rhiwbina could find time to strain gnats but had no time or inclination to comment or take action on its clear and gross error!
